I found this list of 25 free macOS apps every Mac user should have, which I found on my twitter feed, interesting.
Itsycal is a tiny calendar for your Mac's menu bar. If you want, it will display your calendar events as a companion to the Mac Calendar app. You can also create and delete (but not edit) events. Here are some other things you can do: Change the start day of the week; Display calendar weeks according to ISO 8601. ItsyCal has an option in the General preferences to show anything from 1-7 days, 14 days, or even 31 days of events. Even with my incredibly unbusy schedule, 31 is nuts, but a week’s worth is kind of handy.
I already use some apps like Wunderlist, Slack and VLC mentioned in that list. But one app that I felt I could use is Itsycal. It shows the calendar from the menu bar; something I wish the default time date / time app on Mac showed. Itsycal also connected to the calendar app on the Mac and synched all the events. Bootstrap markdown render. I am no longer using the default time app on the menu bar. Now my calendar is just Ctrl + I away.
